- Ric Flair was the reigning NWA World Heavyweight Champion when WCW withdrew from the NWA on 09.01.1993.  Flair continued to be recognized as the NWA champion,

however, until WCW and the NWA could not reach an agreement.  On 09.15.1993, Flair was officially stripped of the NWA title and recognized as the first WCW

International World Heavyweight Champion
